A family entertainer based on a comedy created by misunderstandings in the neighboring families by an innocent girl.

Two feuding neighbouring families are brought together to celebrate the wedding anniversary of Vishnupratap Singh (Vikram Gokhale) and his wife (Farida Jalal), much to the dislike of Rudra Pratap (Sharad Kapoor). During this get together Abhayendra Singh (Fardeen Khan) falls in love with Mangala Solanki (Richa Pallod). Abhayendra comes to know of the background of the two families' feud, and makes attempts to reconcile the two families - with disastrous results.

After his first novel `Light House` flops, wealthy, Delhi-based Akash Dev, with the help of his editor, Khanna, decides to travel to a small village, Shivpura, to meet with Gandhian Jayshankar Chaube, and write something controversial about Mahatma Gandhi. On the way, he bids adieu to his girlfriend, Komal Malhotra, whose mother, Shanti, disapproves of him, and goes on his way. Before reaching Shivpura, his jeep breaks down near Palanpur and he takes it to a nearby mechanic, who turns out to be incompetent. To makes matters worse, Akash`s luggage is stolen, and he gets stranded in a town where even the phone does not work. He tries to impress everyone that he knows a lot of influential politicians in Delhi, who live in the neighborhood of Chanakyapuri, but gets caught up in a challenge to built a road, and romantically involved with the Village Mukhiya`s arrestingly beautiful daughter, Akansha.

The show revolves around Ambi, a newlywed young woman who tries her level best to live up to the expectations of her overtly authoritative mother-in-law, but not at the cost of her self-respect.

Besides the 18 year age difference, the two protagonists, Dr. Ashutosh and Dr. Nidhi have a totally different outlook and perspective in life. He is a serious, no-nonsense man, who has built his life around his career, leaving no room for relationships while she is a vivacious young woman who looks upon life with a sense of humor.

Shortly thereafter Rashmi invites her friend, Riya and her husband Ajay to live with them as paying guests.
